April 28, 2013 Rainbows

A line of late afternoon thundershowers passed through so I grabbed some shots.

The music for this page is “Pacific Rim” by Chi.  This CD is from 1988, and it falls in the New Age/Jazz category.  It goes well with the line of rain showers passing by right now…

 APR 28 2013 001Nikon D5000 with a Nikkor 18-70mm F/3.5-4.5G ED lens shot at F/8 and a 1/50 of a second shutter speed.  ISO 100.  Focal length: 35mm (APS-C).

Almost at the spot for the ‘X’ image yesterday, this is looking east across the street at a double-rainbow.  The sun is lighting the scene up nicely, but truth be told, this required some work during RAW processing.  It didn’t have quite this much contrast to it.  However, I did use a polarizer when shooting the image to bring out the rainbows.

APR 28 2013 002Nikon D5000 with a Nikkor 18-70mm F/3.5-4.5G ED lens shot at F/8 and a 1/125 of a second shutter speed.  ISO 100.  Focal length: 52mm (APS-C).

Taken from George and Patsy’s yard (their dogs went crazy inside the house when they saw me), this is also looking east.  The partial rainbow is what caught my eye here, but also the starkness of the tree, and the various layers of colors of the clouds.

Wow…4 new web pages in less than a week…one wonders if the images will keep on coming at this pace in 2013, or will things slow down?  I dunno…..
